You know, some animals are really extraordinary. Let"s talk about camels. They live in a climate of extremes, where nights tend to be really cold and days can be extremely hot. How do you think they survive in such difficult conditions? Well, the truth is, the humps help them a lot. Most people think that a camel"s hump is full of water. That^s a false belief but it seems logical. After all, they have to walk through the deserts, where the supplies are quite low. But as I said, that"s not true. A camel"s hump is filled with fatty tissue, a source of energy, which is accumulated there, whereas other mammals" fat is spread over the surface of their bodies, keeping them warm all the time. But camels can survive not only thanks to their humps. Have you ever had a camel wool blanket? Do you know how well it can keep warmth? At the same time, it doesn"t block the air flow at all. This is exactly what a camel"s fur is like. It protects the animal from sunlight, but keeps it warm during the night. Some people think is not a very good idea to deprive an animal of its fleece, and right now I can see their point. A camel wool blanket is something really comfortable for us, and the fleece will reconstruct itself in time, but still, the poor camel stays naked for a couple of weeks.
